... it is a remake of a uruguyan film la casa muda.

but fuck me if this wasn't nail biting fucking head fuck of a movie.

the entire movie is shot in one take, that's right - one fucking take, and it's very well written and directed.

the main star is the olsen twins (from full house)'s younger sister, she does a fucking splendid job.

thought it was cool that her sisters' were in full house, and she is in silent house.

hollywood can't make horror flicks for shit, this is an independent one.

but then again, it's a remake as stated earlier.

I've not seen it (nor heard of it), though I'm a fan of the horror.

Want to see 'The Conjuring', which is purportedly based on a true story. It comes out later this month.

yeah, the conjuring looks amazingly creepy.

can't wait, have always been a fan of possession films.

downloaded one that is finally based on a man, not a girl who is possessed, the possession of david o'reilly, a british film.

vhs1 was decent, watched vhs2 for that reason and it was really shit.

mama was meh, didn't move me at all, evil dead i don't even want to watch because i love the original.

but films like this (silent house) and haute/high tension (french film) hit closer to home because it's not about ghosts.

I don't care for horror movies, not since I was a kid. don't find them scary and the last decade of it really put me off the genre.

I haven't found many of them to be scary either, and if it's too cheesy I don't finish watching. I just like to see what they come up with.

The fact that 'The Conjuring' is based on a true story intrigues me.

^ i think i saw the remake of that which fucked it up for me, the orphanage, right?

have you been watching only hollywood horrors though? because they suck.

japanese horror ones always stick with me, thai horrors are good, french horrors are brutal and very tense.

jap - black ghost white ghost. thai - shutter. french - haute tension/high tension.

you won't be disappointed, trust me when i say this.

I dont know, rarely watch hollywood ones, they are all about jumping out scenes which you can predict, if its dark and you dont see actors back, something is gonna jump out.
Asian ones are all about the atmosphere and getting under your skin.

yep, and the japs have mastered the art of using the house environment to scare you.

thanks to japanese films, i couldn't have a shower, everytime i'd rinse my hair eyes closed, i'd picture a little girl staring at me.

Silent house wasnt in one take and isnt even good. The original is only noteworthy because of the one take thing....the rest of the film aint nothing to write home about.

House of the devil is a good throwback to old school atmospheric horror movies. If you havent seen it you should.
