Favorite 'Mic Check' Songs

    They don't have to be mixtape freestyles, per se... but actual songs where the emcee spits a raw 'mic check', just showcasing his verbal skills... not concept or story telling songs.

    An example would be Nas' "It Ain't Hard to Tell" or Royce's "Boom"... which are two of my favorites.

    I know a lot of you "evolved" hip hop fans may not appreciate the "mic check" anymore, but I still think it's an essential component of MC skills... any musician worth his salt will usually showcase his raw chops in jam sessions with other musicians... it's the same thing with hip hop... you should still be able to be a BEAST on the mic.
