i'm with you, dude is nowhere near as good as people make him out to be.
lmao at sayin no auto tune and transitioning into autotune chorus within a minute. get him the fuck out of here
Yea... I'm lost how the Degrassi star can be held as the greatest, when he's rappin about
"Understand nothin was done for meeeeeeeee"
What the fuck? Now if we could get Soul Khan rappin about how the swazzi he has tattooed on his back, everything would make perfect sense.
I didn't realize having a job meant something was done for you?
What the fuck, sometimes I don't think people know what they're talking about.
are you fuckin kidding me? that shit is a wack ass publicity stunt. The fuck does a Canadian know about screw?
is Z-ro gonna make a Mike Myers tribute now?
0:23: Why do I feel so alone?
0:42: My privacy about the only thing I back?
1:30: I'm embarrassed to pull my camera out
1:44: I'm rollin around the city like "Ya Highness"
His lyrics are basic as MOTHERFUCK. Only notable line was the "girl I'm fuckin now" line.
His rhymes are even more simple:
Timeless... Highness... Priceless... Mindless... Sightless.... Flyness....
There's some true Drake Quality rhymes for you.
And he's got a flow about as fuckin ill as Okwerdz.
Sickest thing about "Say What's Real" is the fuckin beat he's wastin....
Oh no!!! I only made nearly 6-figures every year for being an average-at-best actor spendin my time with other emo-kids and hot bitches. DEAR MAMA!!!!!!!
NOTHIN WAS EVER DONE FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEE (Neither...)
AND I CAME UP FROM THE STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET (Believe it...)
TELLIN NIGGAS HOW HARD IT WAS FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEE (See it?...)
I'ma do this shit forever!!!!!
Hahaha, Drake's rhymes aren't why he's interesting. I swear you guys just hate so you can prove you "aren't mainstream". Bro, so cool.
Honesty in rap is rare as fuck, and the main reason Drake is a fuckin beast. He doesn't rap about shit he doesn't know, and he doesn't BS his way through a verse. Say What's Real was ill as fuck, now I just know you're hatin hahaha
"40 told me to do me, and don't listen to anybody that knew me-
Cuz to have known me would mean that there's a new me-
and if you think I've changed, then the slightest could've fooled me-"
Fucking raw. Period. ^
if you want lyricism go listen to canibus
shit is not the end all be all of a hip-hop track or even close
edit: for the record i hate drake
If I'm hating, you all are dick-riding like fag-porn stars.
I apologize, I guess I'm still living in a word where lyricism plays a part in making good songs. Fuckin confused me.
Guy has the complexity of Soulja Boy, a flow about as complex as Weezy, and ain't got HALF the "realism" and "honesty" of someone like Common or Kanye.
he has lyricism. he just doesn't spit 8 syllable rhymes.
he makes up for that with actual music talent.

I've never listened to Drake asides from watchin that vid with all them bitches playing basketball.. But just peeped those two tracks you posted Erik.
Of course that fool isn't lyrical as fuck, whoever expected that has been in a cave. But.. dude isn't garbage. And I get what Eric is saying, I feel like Drake is spitting exactly how he feels. LMAO so thats where that "cry when hov does" comes from. But yeah Eric, I agree, I respect him big time for the fact that I feel this dude's spitting EXACTLY how he feels.. Which is HELLA rare because 1. Rappers just yap on some other shit all the time. 2. LYRICISM GETS IN THE WAY ALL THE TIME. Seriously, rappers rearrange their shit for the sake of making it lyrically better. Dude's flow and structure is hella simple, but he is MAKING the most out of it by saying the most, regardless if it's witty or not. He def is overrated like crazy, but I'd rather see a guy like him succeed than half the rappers that have and are on that same old bullshit.
LMAO @ dude with long ass corn rows bout to ball up on camera rofllll though wtf
Okay... you didn't argue, so I guess you agree:
Rhyme Complexity = Soulja Boy
Flow Complexity = Weezy
Realism = Common / 2
Okay, so he doesn't have rhyme complexity, he doesn't have flow complexity, there are far more "realistic," "poetic," "honest," "heart-felt" artists out there....
Where is his actual music talent?
Exactly what I said, only I supported it with WHY he was over-rated. Then the dick-riding began...
lmao i love people who praise underground rap because it's so 'intricate'
IT'S INTELLECTUAL HIP-HOP YOU JUST WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND
mostly being able to do most elements (writing, rapping, singing, content) at a decent to good level is what counts as talent in my opinion.. which isn't common at all. its easy to find someone good at one of those things, but all? nah. then when you add that he's very honest I think its just something really hard to hate.
he's overhyped, but in no way garbage. we put up with alot more trash underground. people can't put together a decent hook, or something with content value and we still way they're ill because they know how to match syllables. Drake has more than enough to be considered talent.
just my two cents.
PS: unbiased is on point

if he sucks, then think to yourself why he had Every popular rapper cosigning him (jigga kanye fabolous joe budden lil wayne bun b countless others i cant remember but every interview had rappers weighing in on him and biggin him up), AND hes from canada, should have been instant hate, no?
IMO Drake crafts songs very well, chooses interestingly different beats often, appeals to women because he says what they want to hear
dudes aight. i've heard most of his stuff. pretty talented. i wouldn't put him in my top 10. personal preference i guess. whatever. if someone likes something, i won't try to convince them otherwise
the stuff they're playing on the radio is trash. thank me later as a whole is weak, although i like a few songs. was a bigger fan of this dude after comeback season, i think that was his best work. the young money influence made this nigga lazy lyrically, he was killing ish on comeback season
Separate names with a comma.
