...accompanied by gasps and those pesky "omg I almost could have died" noises, screams and moans although you drove them safely from point a to point b?

It's bloody annoying, not to mention the noise alone can shift focus from paying attention to the road.

I was tempted to stop in the middle of the road, take the key out, exit the car, open her door and tell her to drive instead.

I wasn't even driving crazy, but I wasn't going uber slow either. If there's anyone else in the car besides me, I'll be even more careful than usual.

But isn't it a bit awkward with only the radio breaking up zee silence in the car?

Thanks for the welcome, and it works well. I mean, once people notice that it's either stop bitching, or walk they learn to leave their thought in their heads. So, it's great from experience, but that may be because i've actually left people to walk.

I'll need to try that technique one day..

The part that perhaps bugs me the most is why even get in a car with a person you'll spend questioning their driving skills and abilities in the first place.

You definitely hit the nail on the head, I personally think it's lazyness. "Hmm, I can die, but don't have to use my muscles?! Time to bitch!"
