Don't know if the offense will....

We seem to be a streaky team with the bats....We rely more on defense, team speed, and the bullpen to keep us alive....

Starting pitching has been solid of late...except for our ace....go figure....

Batting seems to be what we depend on the least...

But one other thing has saved us....Our bats will lie dead most of the night....but when it comes to clutch runs they seem to come alive...

I'd love for Pena to get back on his grind and get a little more consistency on our batting avg.'s....

crazy to see a team w/ the best record in the league with only one starter over .300

danny was way to cocky...he obviously never watched the devil rays or HOW BAD the red sox play on the road

    especially picking masterson over shields

i thought devil rays were taking 2 outta 3

    not a sweep

but our pitching is pretty good right now...dice k, wakefield, beckett, masterson/buchholtz and lester..thats a VERY good pitching staff..its debatable.... the best 1 to 5

but the bullpen has blown 3 games in the last 5...we need to shore that up

Danny's a duck...He just rides the success of Bostons teams without knowing a fucking thing about any of the sports he cheer leads for..

    and I agree w/ Wil...

Nasty starting rotation...Better then ours...but there's nothing better then going into a game knowing that if your starter can give up a minimal amount of runs that your relievers can hold it...

I've even felt comfortable with trailing going into the 7th inning...

not yesterday though....down 1-4 with no one except Longo hitting for shit I was ready to call it a night...

Dice K and Kazmir both need to their pitch counts down...

It gets old having two studs running 100 pitches before the end of the fifth...

Kaz hasn't gone past 5 and two thirds for the past 4 starts...

We just called up Reid Brignac to replace Bartlett who went out on the DL w/ a knee sprain...

This kid is one of our young prospect pieces come tread deadline...22 yr old SS w/ a solid bat and improving defensive skills...

Rumor has it that we're taking a look at Xavier Nady as one of our possible pickups...I couldn't see us shedding too much in return, but we'll see...

Nady is a very good player having a great season. I was thinkin they'd look at Jason Bay, actually. But they prolly want more athleticism. Dunn would be a ridiculous DH... always posts a 900 OPS despite being a 220 hitter lol

Dunn? Haven't heard him brought up yet...

He's hitting for power but we really need a RH bat...and the .220 level avg isn't too enticing...

Pena's already that player....Mid to Higher .200's avg lefty that bats for power..Obviously he needs to get that shit going again though..

TBH, I dunno how I would feel about getting Dunn....I'd really like us to start pulling up our hits...We're more of a team that scores off extra base hits and bag speed...

But our HR's having been lacking.

I have a feeling come August Price will be added to the rotation..

"Price is a combined 6-0 with a 1.74 ERA, 49 Ks, 13 BB and a .218 batting-average against in his first eight professional starts in his month-plus career."

Kids been dominant in the minors...Cant wait for him to push Edwin out of our rotation.

Only because we haven't needed him....

    We're winning, he'll be here mid-august.....guaranteed.

    On a side note....Evans over .280 now....

He might hit in the .290's, .300's, come august....

Way better then expectations....Kids a monster..

My boy Soto is back up to 290/375/500

First rookie NL catcher to start the ASG

The guy hadn't had better than an 800 OPS in the minors before last year, when he lost 20 lbs and hit 350/430/600. He is all of a sudden a top 5 catcher. Pretty amazing.

    God I hope he maintains.
