    Guaranteed.

Give the kid a couple more years and he'll be pulling Chipper Jones type stats...

This was known, last year. The guy was deemed the next Troy Tulowitzki the moment he was drafted. They went to the same college.

the next Tulo? he's only played for one season, kinda strange to call a potential ROY the "next" modeled after a guy who got it last year, plus they play different positions

i haven't seen the kid play, but when i check box scores he is killin it, lol

They were saying they are very similar players. I thought Longoria played short at Long Beach too.

Especially when Tulo was playing his first few games as a professional the year that Evan was drafted...

Tulo's a shortstop...Not to mention being considered the "next" means the player you're being compared to is usually a seasoned all-star.....

    Not a rookie.

Regardless, pitchers are starting to walk him rather then hit the strikezone....450+ foot blasts will do that.

    Evan's on fire....

    06/27 4 out of 5 , 1 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI's..
    06/26 3 out of 5 , 1 HR, 2 2B, 1 RBI...
    06/25 3 out of 6 , 1 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI's..

    20 2b's already as a rookie w/ 250 AB's...

leads all rookies w/ 15 homeruns....Finally working his average up....

    His glove work is insane....

#'s are really good... if he raises his average to 300 by the end of the year he should have a thousand ops or pretty close to it.

He was closing in on .275 prior to the last two games. He's at .270 now....Doubt he'll reach .300, he's swinging hard and still has the powerhitter/rookie SO's slowing him down...

    I see him ending the season around .280 - .285, 30 HR's and 105 RBI's....

That's if he doesn't hit a long cold streak as the season tests the conditioning of these young players....

Madden seems to have confidence in the kids ability to last though. I've yet to see him have a day off in the last couple months....

But the stats aren't what's impressive....You really have to see some of the clutch outs this kid comes up with....Game saving barehanded catches, throws from his knees, diving all over the fucking field coming up with anything that gets near him....

    Just nasty.

Just wanted to add that we've regained the best record in the AL.....if the cubs lose tonight, it's best in the league..

Time for Boston to take a few L's in the Trop.

I'd sell the [Cubs] farm for B.J. Upton.

Upton needs to take command of the outfield...

But he's a good versatile player...Young as well....

Sky' the limit with this team

now all they need to do is get an ownership group with more than 12 bucks to spend so they can retain these players, get wayyyyyyyyy more pitching, and move out of tampa bay, and who knows? they might just win a division title in the next 10 years.... maybe.

They don't need pitching, especially once they call up Price.

    Kaz
    Shields
    Sonnanstine
    Garza
    Price

Plus their pen is very good this year.
