basically...what does your list look like..what items do you ALWAYS take to the gym with you??

    must haves..
    shorts
    shirt
    lifting gloves
    water bottle
    mp3 player

proper clothes obviously just make you feel good when you're lifting..jeans just get in the way. the gloves are helpful when you grip the weights..my hands still get torn up a lil bit but who cares...it helps a lot.

water bottle..self explanatory...mp3 player...you'd be surprised how much the music helps. if you don't have one..pick one up.

other than that I plan to pick up one of those belt things...for the back days with deadlifts and all that..

and um.....a towel I guess lol..

    what about you guys?

I would say a workout buddy..cuz its kind of related but this is just items lol. a friend is a huge plus when working out.

    definately need proper attire

    dip belt (not lifting belt)

get gloves...they're only like 20 bucks and they help more than people think. when you jack your hand up you won't wanna do as many sets cuz it might feel funny...and if you mess it up really bad it will just be another excuse in your head to not go until its good lol.

and the music...woooooo..its awesome lol. my gym plays stuff but its not what I wanna hear when I'm working out..I need something hype to pump me up definitely.

yeah gloves or chalk would really improve my grip...i hate having to stop mid set because i cant grasp the bar even though my muscles arent 100% fatigued, it only happens when i do calve raises with a barbell, but even still.

as for music, i do without it. i work out at home and im very picky about my music so using the same workout CD time after time really gets mundane, and very annoying when the songs skip. i just focus on moving the weight, thats all.

what i like to do to get pumped up is hit big compound movements first to get testosterone, adrenaline and whatever the fuck else pumping hard (squats does it the best IMO) then i just keep that energy going and use it to help with other tougher/crucial exercises so its like my squats are fueling my energy for DB press then ill hit close-grip bench or something, and save the small things like calves, abs, biceps, or forearms for last so im hitting my muscles in order from biggest to smallest.

I have never used a pair of lifting gloves or a belt.

I've been wanting to get some for the last couple of years though.

Get some hooks. They really come in handy with deadlifts and pull-ups. Use them when your grip starts fading.

I don't have, but I'd like to get a heat rate monitor.

A nice jump rope . Not that plastic bullshit, one with ball bearings.

I really need to get an MP3 player.
