Smooth really doesn't know much about rap music and has admitted to never listening to the majority of classic rap albums. His thought process is that of a high school teenage girl when it comes to Hip Hop so I don't think we should be worried about taking his opinion seriously.

Doesn't make my opinions not valid.

I'm still an expert when it comes to rap and great taste in music.

    My statement is pure fact.

Like..you probably don't think the blueprint nor the carter 2 are classics.

But I know plenty of people whom do.

A person with a diverse and refined pallet will likely enjoy and consider many endearing/significant albums classic, from the whole spectrum... not just the handful of albums they've learned to like. Some people are just more experienced, more open-minded and less one-dimensional. No willful stagnation that needs general consensus for validation.

For example... if you knew anyone that thinks Blueprint is classic, but wouldn't go back and try Reasonable Doubt, or similar classics from that reciprocal era, that person has never put their beliefs and opinions to the test, or finished reading the good book. They'd be like a bible belt creationist scared of evolution being taught in science class, because deep down, their own faith is too weak.

If they'd only look deeper into their own history, they'd have a stronger, realer foundation to stand on. It's fine to be an admittedly ignorant bumpkin who goes to church for potlucks and hodowns... but they're not fit to preach. They'll only spread misinterpretation if they do. That person should just sit in the pew and listen.

If you're not a spiritual person, sitting up in the peanut gallery with some nuts in your mouth can be an acceptable substitute for sitting in the pew with your mouth shut.
