one of the best movies so far this year
Ummm, no. Gladiator is the best because it's the best. The story is great, the ending is especially great. I guarantee that once all of the heat from 300 dissipates, people will still be watching Gladiator. 300 is pretty much a poor mans Gladiator with more flash than substance IMO. But better than Gladiator? Give me a break.
I'm no movie buff ala Brahman (let me get that out) but Gladiator is easily, very easily, one of the top 3 movies I've ever seen. 5 years after their done with making the 300 series, it'll be a mere afterthought, while people still watch Gladiator. Mark my words on that.
You're all crazy, Gladiator is seriously not that good.
300 is like watching beautiful paint dry.
Anyone who thinks this is more than a B movie should seriously re-evaluate their life, because it wasn't that fucking great. It was good at best, but not the godly movie some of you fucks are praising it to be.
Unless you're simply a simpleton, easily wowed by slow motion captures and good cinematography. Which, in that case, is a medical condition that your brain is just naturally slower.
Yea, and you're wrong.
Fuck the Oscar wins, Gladiator was a great movie because it made you emotional.
It was a dramatic movie, and it touches you in ways that 300 didn't.
You can tell a movie is kick ass when people applaud the movie at the end. Everyone did that at the end of Return Of The King. They did that with Gladiator. It was a beautiful flick. Nobody fucking applauded with 300. When Leonidas was shown impaled on the ground by Persian arrowheads, no body broke out crying. There was no emotion there, except "Oh thank God he's finally dead, let's go home now"
thats how it was.
So save the rest of us from such stupid comments like these and keep your fingers up your ass. You type nothing but ass hairs.
That's why I said, "I think," cuz I saw Gladiator a bunch of times but it's been a long while since I've seen it, and I was younger then.
Think during American Revolution, Oursin.
Though I agree steven seagel is the man.
I rent his Direct to video movies. LOL!
Troy was decent but I when I was done watching it I didn't say WOW...
The Patriot was good but...like Oursin said, 300 had that additional artistic cinematography graphics thing going.
None of it beats Gladiator which I wholeheartedly love (although whats his name isn't that great an actor..Russel Crow?)
300 is the best movie I have seen in a LONG time. I went to see that beotch 2 times. I love it. I mean...the storyline is inaccurate...but so what...it entertained the hell outta me....
Jason and the Argonauts
Were certainly better
its ....peanut butter jelly time!!
For all you late catz, heres a special treat. Don't say shyt about shyt, just enjoy the fuck'n treat.
wow....this is revolutionary!
Alexander was a great movie.
Alexander was an asss movie. Literally...asss...buncha gay ass dudes fighting over power....
Calm down, I never said 300 was good either, because it isn't, well it is in the same way Rocky 4 is good.
Anyway, Gladiator only makes you emotional if you are easily manipulated. It tells a boring, simple story with suspense-free action scenes (done in by poor editing) and treacly, embarrassing dialogue. Ridley Scott almost always makes pretty pictures, but they tend to be sort of hollow and obvious. The main character's name is MAXIMUS!. That alone makes it worthy of being detested.
lol @ those last 2 sentences. Even directed at me, that's funny.
Funny? I'll tell you what's funny. The fact that you have a TEN FOOT STICK UP YOUR ASS is funny.
Sit down, Ms. Iron Box.
300 was good but I have to agree that it doesnt compare to movies like BraveHeart and Gladiator... Patriot was pretty good (about the American Revolution not the Civil War). and Troy was good, 300 didnt seem to have as storng a story line as these other movies.

I know, I know, how dare I express an opinion that isn't in line with yours. Shame on me for not falling in line with your flawless, impeccable taste, right?
I'll give u Bravehart and Gladiator, maybe even Last of the Mohicans, but Troy and Patriot are kind of a stretch, altho Troy was a similar story to 300, I think 300 did a much better job of storytelling
Separate names with a comma.
