Does anyone else ever forget what a poem they wrote meant?

A lot of my poems I knew what I was saying metaphorically and sublimably as well as all other areas when I wrote it, but then I'll look back months or a year later and forget the meaning.

^that's one I did on here about a year ago I came across just browsing other posts by myself. Sure I could figure it out if I took 30 minutes to analyze it, but I'm too tired to do that right now, and I'm now in the seat of everyone else who replied in not quite knowing what it means.

well thats actually a bad example, cus its less metaphorical and sublimable, and more to the point worded complexly.

Man, I remember reading that one. And you never came back to explain your piece either!

I don't have a lot of my older pieces in my possession but what's funny is when I read some of the other pieces I do have I remember the ones I don't have because I wrote them in the same time period of whatever I was going through/writing about.
I don't need a good memory to know what my poem meanings are, it's weird.

I'll laugh if my first thought was right when I replied way back then.
