Chopping up a break beat is a close as I come to using drum loops. But like a sample cd with some "new" sounding rap drum loops... nah. Thats a never for me.

Looping something just isn't for me, I ain't knock anyone else that does it tho. I like taking DnB drum loops and chopping them up tho, that's fun

I'm talking about chopping actual loops from songs, not just the breaks. I love the DnB melodies and bass.

I don't loop drums but what amazes me is all these cats thinkin there's somethin wrong wit loopin drums...........I can understand tho....we are all new school heads and just don't kno no better....alotta yall use rm.com as a portal into hip hop culture because u never lived or grew up in a place where its prevalent.....and u get caught up in these assumptions and then those assumptions turn into "make believe" rules........wake up....niggaz loop......its nothin new

I personally don't loop cuz I don't like lookin for my car keys....the remote.....or my last fresh pair of boxers....so I sure as hell don't like lookin for samples.......

    fuck loops...

i use fruityloops, and i dont even fuck with loops...

well actually, i have used some drum loops before but only cos i heard a nice set of drums being used, loaded it up into fruity slicer. and then that chopped up the beat into sections.

then load it up into piano roll, and make the drums trigger when you want, so you can use the sounds of the original loop, but make your own beat with it.

thats not looping though. thats chopping

I Use A Lot Of Breaks... Sometimes I Use Them In Loops.. Or Just Chop Them..

When They Are Just Looped.. I Layer Over Them.. Simple As That..

I program my beats just for personal preference. I got no problem wit cats that use loops. I just wanna make my own classic breaks...feel me?

    Lol

But anyways, programming my own shit is just more pleasing for me. I spit to my shit when I'm creating and see how well I'm hitting the snare, and how I'm noddin my head and all that shit. Lol, sounds small and petty. But every beat maker has their own process.

I do like breaking breaks apart and saving each file, and then keeping certain parts of breaks (usually the end of the bar) to flip in MY pattern I create with the same drum kit. That way I don't have to recreate say...a drum roll, or some really fresh and well executed break. My timing is cool, latency is not so cool. lol, I just recently fixed that though thank God.
