If you don't have a compelling delivery or a cadence that is emotive and fluent, depending on the track or content of the lyrics, then I could care less what you're rappin' about nor how you're rappin' it.

Rappin' is a vocal art where you use your voice as an instrument to express poetry.

    Lyrics are secondary.

Tech N9ne is a great example of this. One of the absolute best deliveries and flows in the game...and while he's fairly lyrical in his own right, he FORCES multis as much as any emcee I know. It's annoying, but perhaps less than it would be with many other artists because it still manages to SOUND good rhythmically/percussively.

Jay Z's cadence on "Hello Brooklyn" was very musical, the way he accented the last word in every line... even though he didn't employ a tongue-twisting, complicated scheme.

Andre3000 has a great cadence, too... which is a big reason why he's such a superior rapper.
