Reminds me of the sort of ambivalence I feel on a rainy afternoon.

    Good thread.

some of those paintings go for a few million+

i know they may not look like much from your monitor but if you would just see them in person you would understand why. many of them are extremely large. i think many of twombly's rose paintings are like 20ft long. so gazing into one can honestly be overwhelming in person. that is of course the whole point. his paintings can make you feel like youre sort of in a new universe as you feel your body becoming really tiny. there was reportedly this women (i think this was at a exhibition for twombly at the ny guggenhiem) who started openly weeping when looking at one of his paintings

    LOL

clearly this sort of thing isnt for people that are like you i guess. its more for overly emotional art fags like me, that lady, and dex

enjoy your.... whatever you be doing instead though

No offense, but I see this guy laughing as he smudges his brushes all over the page knowing it’s shit but people will read into it some prophetic or deep meaning and purchase it for “millions” of dollars. How is this art? My 6 year old brings home pictures like this from class. It looks like he finger painted, then took a pencil and tried to draw the side of a man’s face, but fucked up and scribbled it out.

If you had a little kid, I think you’d be in heaven with all the free works of shit he/she would bring home from school for you to frame and hang in your house.

Do I have to have favorites to like art? I browse art online and check out local galleries or shows occasionally.

The stuff you posted is garbage, the end.
