Mirko, a black-belt in Taekwondo and 37 year old MMA Veteran,
never accomplished his goals within the TOP MMA establishment of the world.
Cro Cop entered the UFC on a 4 fight win streak,
one of the wins coming against Josh Barnett,
in the Finals of the Pride Open Weight Grand-Prix.
Upon winning the tournament, Mirko entered the UFC,
won a lack-luster decision over Eddie Sanchez,
than got every ounce of mystique ripped away from him,
as average Gabriel Gonzaga finished the Croatian with his own move,
the Cemetery bound head kick. I hate to say it,
but with the testing UFC has,
it is very hard for fighters to gain illegal advantages they normally would use elsewhere,
and this could be the case for the aging Cro Cop.

Here are his thoughts on a possible return to MMA:
What do you guys think Cro Cop should do?
Personally I feel he is BETTER SUITED for K1.
Should he return to MMA? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY,
    TO THE UFC,
    or a smaller ORGANIZATION?

It is bad enough we are going to see him get finished in K1 soon if he is actually going to be competing in a tournament and ISN'T focusing 100% on it.

he really wasn't. dude was getting his ass beat AND putting on boring fights (Mir) yet they still let him keep on until the end of his contract. they showed him a lot of respect.

He's looked shitty outside of the UFC as well though.

I think it's highly likely that many Japanese fighters were taking shortcuts, but I also think many current fighters know how to cycle. So in short, it's not an easy enough answer for my liking.

Look at Wanderlei Silva. He started losing when he was the most ripped out of his whole career. Had more to do with overconfidence in his striking and facing better talent imo. About Cro Cop, I'm not so sure it was prime Mirko that won the GP before entering UFC. Yoshida and Minowa weren't too challenging, Wanderlei is somewhat custom built for a thinking striker, and Josh Barnett is a weak striker that actually had a hard battle with Big Nog earlier. Before the Grand Prix, Cro Cop was owned by Mark Hunt.

I don't know and I don't think we can ever know these things, but its something to think about. One thing for sure is that nearly every fighter ever has gotten shittier overnight. Roy Jones isn't exactly getting waxed by the best of the best these days.

Josh Barnett was the reason they started tested for Roids in America, because they caught him once. In Japan if you could compete with that dude who was DEF juicing because it was before he got caught, obviously he was using the "substance" he didn't realize contained roids, then I kinda think you were probably juiced.

I know that is looking at it very narrowly, and I don't think EVERYONE was on roids, but I think the named fighters were.

Well, look at how many juicers Anderson Silva has beaten. Does that mean he's juicing too?

Barnett's whole game is top control. If you can avoid that even for the first round, you're competing with him.

I said not everyone, and yes, the people who are stars in the UFC now are clean, but I honestly couldn't tell you if he was clean or not in Pride, that Organization was run ***** with the drug, I wouldn't be surprised if he was offered it, though I think he'd decline.

i dont believe that fighters turn to shit overnight unless their is an obvious reason. for Roy Jones its obvious, roy jones was a LHW who moved up to heavyweight for one fight just to show how great he was. the next fight at 35 he loses all the weight and muscles and becomes slow and uncoordinated losing to the next 3 people he fights.

cro cop has had an up and down career. humiliating losses followed by tko wins. but mirko reminds me of riddick bowe because he was still young when he started to appear old and washed up. showing signs of brillance and in the same round walking around. his excuse for every lost seems to be that he was injured before the fight, but who knows. in my opinion i i dont think he juiced, i think he is just a spent fighter
