Sherdog.com is reporting that Randy Couture and Mark Coleman have verbally agreed to a bout at UFC 109 on Feb. 6 in Las Vegas, NV, making it the first time that two UFC hall of famers have faced each other.

The bout will not be the first time that Couture and Coleman have faced each other, as the two wrestled one another in a freestyle match at the 1989 Olympic Festival at Oklahoma State, which Coleman won by one point.

Couture is coming off of a Randy unanimous decision victory over the much younger Brandon Vera this past Saturday at UFC 105, while Coleman is also coming off a unanimous decision victory over a much younger opponent as he defeated Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100 this past July.

Stay tuned to FightLine.com for further updates on UFC 109.

    Yawn.

    Randy's fighting every five minutes.

This fight will go his way.

Therefore, Couture v Coleman = Couture v Vera with more fence clinching.

Will take a piss break on the fight.

Coleman's chin and heart are too good for 1st round tko, but I think he will be overwhelmed and probably submitted.

randy got beat by vera, but this should be as exciting as a shot to the nuts.

if it's the headline, i'll avoid this like the plague.

um...did anyone see the same fight? vera was beating the shit outta randy with kicks - to the point of knockdowns - and was matching him with punches. want to talk about lay & pray? randy's most effective maneuver was to pin vera against the cage for 15 minutes.

give that match 1 more round and randy is done.

he actually didnt match him with punches... randy landed more in every category but kicks, was much more active in attempting takedowns etc.. i thought vera won off first watch but on 2nd watch its clear why couture got the judgement

and vera only really dominated with kicks in rd2.. rd3 didnt get going until later on, at which point randy was winning the round and ended up catching a kick

Vera won under Pride rules, sure. He could have finished Handy in Rd 2 if he wasn't so gunshy.

But under Unified Rules, Couture took rounds 1 and 3 through lean 'n' pray. Effective grappling and Octagon Control won this fight. But to me it was a boring hugfest.

the lack of respect the hammer gets is amazing

since 1999 , thats 10 years for those who cannot count, he has lost ONLY to these people

-shogun (VERY late in the fight) and also beat him once- a win is a win
    -fedor 2x
    -cro cop
    -big nog

it wasnt long ago bonnar was respected in the ufc, and hammer crushed that fuckin fool....

i say lets see what he has left before we go scrap heapin the guy... fuck, its not like he shows up and gets his shit kicked in by cans, the dude fights top level guys

    i dont get fans sometimes
