can anyone recommend a sound card that...

    is good for recording and meets these credentials




    -is external
    -at least a 1/4 in
    -will still support my 5.1 dolby digital surround sound speakers

    no such thing with 1/4 in... at least i think... sounblaster extigy is external, and supports your surround sound speakers

    im selling my soundblaster extigy by the way......comes with instruction booklet, remote control, installation CD, power supply,and usb cable. ive only used this thing once because i have a desktop and ended up getting a mixer........$60 for 24 bit recording...........hit me up if ur interested ... my email is wdps_recordz@yahoo.com or hit me up on Aim at WDPS Recordz

    1/4 in? what are you doing that you need 1/4 in....

    are your speakers 5 individual 1/4 to each speaker or is it just stereo interpreted for surround?

    the typical 1/8 inch connectors arent good for anything other than listening to headphones kid....once u get serious about audio ull learn this.
