Translation: We know the law doesn't apply to Bush & Co, but apparently it doesn't apply to associates of Bush & Co either.

Meanwhile, folks are getting put away for life if found with a bit of weed.

WASHINGTON - President Bush spared former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby from a 2½-year prison term in the CIA leak investigation Monday, delivering a political thunder•••• in the highly charged criminal case. Bush said the sentence was just too harsh.

Bush’s move came just five hours after a federal appeals panel ruled that Libby could not delay his prison term. That meant Libby was likely to have to report soon, and it put new pressure on the president, who had been sidestepping calls by Libby’s allies to pardon Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff.

“I respect the jury’s verdict,” Bush said in a statement. “But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison.”

Wow. I even remember hearing about it on news here in the Middle East. It was even a big thing over here and Bush just overthrew the ruling?

    How stupid.

right...it's only a matter of national security.

meanwhile you have kids getting caught selling a little bit of pot a couple times getting much harsher punishment.

Probation won't be hard for someone like that to break...and you know some conservative organization is going to swoop in and pay his $250,000 fine. If they can raise MILLIONS for his defense, this will only be a drop in the bucket.

We should nuke ourselves since we already allow people to run the country like a dictatorship. He was responsible for 911 already so why don't we just set off every nuke that we have on ourselves. All at once too.

Frankly, who cares? This country is RUN by psychopathic deviants, and if the system really worked for the people, 95% of the Bush administration would have been tried and committed for treason. Scooter Libby is a criminal, of course, but is quite tame compared to some of those who are still in power, who continue to claim to be above the law.

This thing with Scooter Libby will amount to nothing more than more internet gossip, so I don't see what the point of even discussing it is when there are much bigger things which are going to affect us all very soon.

The judge who was appointed by Bush and two solid conservatives on the appellate panel(of 3) disagree with you.

Once again, justice escapes these pieces of shit. It's hilarious hearing Bush talk about being against excessive sentences.
