Mary Phelps Jacobs, in November of 1914 took care of patenting a product which is now universally known as a bra.

This, sometimes unnecessary piece of wardrobe became generally misleading in all respects as years went by.

Agreed. If it isn't the straps digging into the shoulder, it's the chaffing under the breast itself. If I didn't need one, I wouldn't wear one, lol. Not a fan of black eyes.

Actually, my sports bras are great, I agree with her. I wear them when working out and sometimes at work, but they are just so unflattering under a blouse or low cut tank, lol. Nor do they go with my....other, pretty undergarments.

Pretty much. Although the underwires are the absolute worst, as are "bones" in corsets. It's when the sewing kit comes out and wires need to go.

    Are they really that uncomfortable?

Seems like briefs would do the same to my nards.

Might I suggest boxer briefs?? Apparently they equal the support of a good bra, lol
