but if your into the asian cinema circle, its a tad bit over appreciated or overrated, easilly the highest rated most talked about movie, well along with sflv, especially being so similar to other movies like green fish

I means under-appreciated by a worldwide audience. SadistiK1 was honestly the only other person i have seen post anything about this movie, anywhere.

I thought Lady Vengance was weak, personally. Definitely not up to par with the First or oldboy

And to the guy who asked bout Haute Tension, yes its great. One of the best horror movies in years, just dont watch it dubbed, make sure its subtitled.

Yea, bad voiceovers bug the hell out of me. I ordered it from the US amazon and am getting it shipped here, so i assume it will be the subtitled version.

you think so? I thought once I found the pace of the film it was entertaining to the end. The first 15-20 minutes were slow, but after that it kept moving, I thought.

Ive watched a fair amount of older films... Kurosawa, Bergman, etc and this is literally the hardest movie to sit through that Ive seen in years. My girlfriend was pissed at me for making her sit through it lol. I can see why its so acclaimed, but I dont know if Id watch it again. The directing is wonderful, but it didnt entertain me.

this is rapmusic.com, how many people do u think on this board watch korean movies regularly?, on movie boards, or asian movie boards is the only place you will find talk about it, sflv is a very good movie, as good as oldboy or sfmv?, certinely not, but those are exceptional movies,

have you seen the movie green fish, it has alot of similarities to bittersweet life, i feel its a better movie, it doesnt have the action bittersweet does, but its a more touchign story

hardest movie i ever had to sit through was andrei rublev...i didn't make it, i struggled through about an hour then fell asleep, woke up, watched another 15 minutes, fell asleep again...so i gave up. tarkovsky has a knack for pushing your patience to about 135% of it's max capacity. But, he makes beautiful, moving films

Ah, and no, i haven't actually seen Green Fish. I'll try to get hold of it on your recommendation.

    Thanks.

And Meh, i thought sflv was pretty average. But then again, the cinema down London was packed with asians and i was 10 minutes late so i got in during the credits which meant that i had to sit bang smack in the front.

    Maybe i'll rent it, again.

in case you overlooked post #24...

i very strongly recommend head-on (2005) out of turkey, a film that definitely hasn't gotten enough attention here in the states for whatever reason

here's the trailer: http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movi...eidQ3D10Q26ampQ3BvendoridQ3D225&title=Head-On (not very well-done, however... too much music and not enough bits of dialogue)

great place to start if you want to catch up on some foreign viewing
