best keyboard for hobbyist begginer?

    Here are a whole slew of them.. I don't know that i would recommend the cheaper ones.. I'd save up and go at least $500 - $1000 in order to get more useful features.. make sure and get something with midi capability so it can double as a midi controller. Also look at zzounds.com and musiciansfriend.com good luck,.

    Take a look into some old emu and ensoniq boards you can get some of those in that range
