Basing life decisions around a relationship..

    ...isn't the best of ideas - generally speaking of course.

    Any decision made should be a weight-in between the pros&cons, with emphasis on never making it from a place of being uber emotional - which is what I see many women do.

    Rationality is underrated.

    Long term doesn't necessarily mean it's a good or healthy relationship, so I believe same applies.

    I concur with OP.

    There are anomalies though.

    Dream woman/man > dream job.

    If you have beyond a doubt found the one who is for you and want to spend the rest of your entire life with them, sometimes you have to make that happen. I am a hopeless romantic.

    However if you have met multiple people who fit the above description, you're probably not being rational at all and need to chill out.
