It is currently the year 2010 C.E. and it's quite fascinating.. wow. Tea Partiers in particular.. Tea Partiers are the small dwindling sect and remnant of the white old guard. It is this same old white guard that would've likely succeeded in diabolically segregating Pres. Obama, on account of his skin color, from any means of real power and authority 70 years ago, especially over white communities. Thus, despite our different background, Pres. Obama and I are deeply united in these series victorys against such oppressive powers despite how politically illiterate this remains to state. The latest Obama victory was the passage of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" which further exposes the so called Tea Party Movement or should I say the "old guard" as a desperate and crippled version of its former self. Although Obama's proponents may seem even lower in number than the polls show or from what the media covers, it is their silence and reserve that I suspect declares not only their satisfaction, but there profound confidence in their Head of State at decibels far higher than the sometimes completely uncivilized anxiousness of the voices of dissent. We know that both registered Republicans and Democrats alike have had no problems expressing their opinions in measure to the degree that they feel a change is needed in leadership.. so what's to make when the other side seems quiet. One word comes to mind.. assurance. Like the mid-to-late-90's Bulls teams where Jordan had the rock with the buzzer ticking down, if you were cheering the other team you were in a frenzied panic, meanwhile if you were a Chicago fan you possessed an almost deadly calm, only on the edge of you seat for the sake of how it was going to happen.

Obama being president is about "power" but what kind exactly?

There are two types of power relevant to Black people. Those are political power and economic power. Obama represents the epitome of Black political power. Economic power is something different. I think Blacks have gotten a lot of political power over the last 30 plus years. We've had Black mayors in most major cities and other Black elected officials. What we haven't had enough of during this same period is economic power. Too many Blacks assumed that political power was where it was at but having all these Black mayors hasn't neccessarily made life better for Blacks in these cities economiclly. This is because Blacks have lacked economic power in the form of business ownership. We haven't done enough to create economic opportunities for ourselves and to balance out this political power with economic power. So yes Obama does represent Black power as far as more Black political power but Blacks really need to make economic power a bigger focus going into the future.

    Point well taken.

Poltical powers and economic powers can be inversely related on many levels.

    Take "white flight"

Works well politically for Afro-Americans, establishing powerhouse voting blocks at least on a regional level, esp. in cities like Detroit (idk about post-Downsizing), Baltimore, and New Orleans (pre-Katrina) where we were able to elect the Mayors of the respective States' largest cities.. the beauty of democracy.

But economically when large groups of "whites" or any race of people for that matter call their realtor and list their holmes on the market, the market gets saturated, supply overwelmns demand, and all the other holmes in the neighborhood and surrounding areas depreciate in value... Capitalism gone wrong due to the structural racism of the majority.

Those are some of the poorest majority Black cities. Dr Claude Anderson broke things down in my thread about "why don't more Blacks own businesses"? In a city like Detroit Blacks may have the political power but Asians and Arabs seem to have more economic power.

This is Bullshit. Obama is a puppet of the Banks, the CFR, the IMF, the Bildebergs and so on.. the average moron should be able to see that. no offense.

Oh and the Tea Parties crosss age, gender, party, racial and economic lines. So I'd suggest you take your head outta the sand and recognize that it's a real movement to get your lapdog Barry out of office as quickly as possible. He's borderline about to impeach himself anyway.

1.) A "real" movement?? That's a joke. If it's a real movement, what has it accomplished? They're ineffective. Obama's passing legislation that Presidents all last century had only dreamed of passing. Nobody really remembers the political opposition to FDR's policies do they? It's the same theme developing currently. No one can deny that the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" signed into law a short time ago was one of the most historic pieces of legislation of our generation, and it came within the first 15 months of Obama's 1st term. The Dow Jones has risen over 3000 pts. about a month after the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009", there hasn't been this type of periodic increase in the Dow Jones since FDR. Obama is scoring big; and based on his speeches and interviews he's so deep in his convictions for doing what he feels is the right thing to do that he probably doesn't even see those phony Tea Party marches and claims.

2.) Movements are usually judged, legitimized, and defined by there leaders. Do Tea Partiers even know who there leaders are? Dick Armey? Dick Chaney? Michael Steele and the RNC? Ron Paul? Palin? Romney? Limbaugh? Boehner? Hannity? The Health Insurance Industry and its lobbyist? None of the which are favored more than Obama by the public. Fine, if you want to believe in the illuminati's control over the President, then tell me which one of the other guys do you believe will not be under the control of those secrect external forces? So why impeach Obama if he's under the control of the Bilderbergs and Council on Foreign Relations, Free Masons, and other obscure committees, underground fraternity's, and blah blah blah. What do you think the next man or woman would do?

You're an idiot.. no offense, but you should go find another subject to take interest in.. politics is not your thang.

Yeah.. Just like every other Tea Party & Republican party sympathizer, you don't know what or why you're so crazy angry, except for the fact that a Black Man is changing your world, and you're helpless. Well, learn to deal with it or leave the country trust me it'd be better off without you.

Wow.. I mean Fox News and Talk Radio is making a fortune off of you guys' ignorance.. and you still can't get it.. all the "talking points" and rhetoric is strict propaganda for a financial profit.. What has the Republican Party done for you in the past 50 years? Fiscal Conservatives....lol... Name a Republican President that left the white house with anything other than a budget deficit. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Arm Forces Intergration, Civil Rights Act, Voters Rights Act, Health Care Reform, Welfare Reform, have all been authorized under Democratic Administrations.. against what from the Republicans???

Some Tea Party idiot just told me in the gym that "Bush may have not been the best President, but he was a better President than Obama"... lol... Bush, Chaney, Karl Rove, and Rumsfield's deregulation and foreign policies almost single handedly destroyed all of what is the United States of America, you ungrateful bum. It's literally amazing what Obama has been able to do a year and a half in his first term to save this country from the Bush Administration attack.

Have you been paying attention lately? all the states that were staunch democrats are slowly voting them out and putting in Republicans.

oh and the Tea Party movement is gaining steam. could possibly be the official 3rd party in the next few months.

the tea party movement is not a racially motivated movement.

the media is painting them as racist in nature, so that minorities do not feel welcome within it's ranks...

Also if this is true that our presidents are just puppets of these powerful folks then why don't these powerful people just make things easier for our presidents? Why don't they use their power to get rid of all the fked-up problems like our bad economies, wars and other $hit that ends up hurting some presidents administrations? I mean, if TPTB wanted Obama to be their elected puppet then why don't they use their power to help fix the economy,Iraq and Afghanistan so that he can get re-elected?

So far it has made the politicians move further right or move out of the way. See Kentucky and Florida as examples.

Right now people are fed up with what the bullshit politicians say and are starting to look at policies. These neo-cons have campaigned on traditional conservative views while backstabbing their constituency and people are finally starting to notice.

You laugh at the thought of a real conservative movement but fail to understand only about 30% of this country are actually steadfast democrats while 40% are conservatives which leaves the independents to decide which candidate is spewing less bullshit.

Painting the Tea Party movement as racist is only a tool of the progressives who have no political rebuttal for any views or stances on the subjects so they use a negative emotional response to get them fired up over simply being wrong.
