Yea, I've got a good ear for samples, I just have no fuckin' clue how to take a song with the sample in it and turn it into a hip-hop beat. I have cool edit and fruity loops, and a novice level understanding of both. I have the song I want to sample as well. If anyone has the time and patience to basically mentor a kid on how to produce, you're help will be greatly appreciated. Hit me up on aim, JKeeps616. Thanks in advance...

#1 Your in the wrong section, go to the Producer's discussion
#2 You just need to learn how to chop the sample up. You can do it in fl with the slicer i think, i dont use FL really so i'm not sure.

But you may have better luck asking the guys in the other forum.

This is clearly a question u need to ask someone through aim....We have a epidemic of Apollo reject comedians here...seriously i mean the whole point of asking questions to learn the answer...only ignorant people choose to not ask questions to enlighten there intelligence and in turn remain ignorant....its the same niggas who sit in the back of the classroom scare to ask a question because there afraid of the other students reactions......man u have the right approach but u asking the wrong people.....my answer is just practice man..honestly...

I love how people who think they're involved with hip hop have the nerve to diss sampling.

8-Mile hip hop fans that way ---->

find ur sample, chop it up how u want, add a drum beat and other instruments u see fit. how u get from point a to point b is practice, trial and error.

Yah, im a 8 mile hip hop fan.

Sorry if i know a lil bit about the business, and what using an un-cleared sample could do to you. And half the people around here dont even chop up the damn sample. Why don't you guys take some courses in music, and learn something about it before you start making such a incorrect piece of music.

Until you can compose a piece of music that doesnt sound like shit, then you're a producer, but taking a sample doesnt mean shit
