if it's not the 3rd world workers, working for lesser pay, no benefits, and no vacation day and weekends, and of course little to no regulations; then it'll eventually be some machine taking away your job.

Shit, they already got machines that can perform surgeries. And I'm sure we all saw Watson on Jeopardy not too long ago.

And don't forget about SS disappearing. That will mean people will no longer retire and instead keep working, in other words hogging up the jobs and preventing the younger generations from moving up, or even getting employed.

but, this also effects the corporations as well. As technology advances it's going to make current products obsolete. Just look at what happened to the music industry for example, also CDs & video cassettes.

So basically, the question that arises is, what the fuck are we going to do with all these unemployed people?

The number is just going to keep rising and rising.

My county's official unemployment rate alone right now is at 20%, so that means the unofficial unemployment rate is probably around 40%. That's 2x the national unemployment.

I think this deserves serious discussion.

How are the corporations going to make money if no one can afford their products because everybody is going to be unemployed.

This effects corporations just as much as it does the workers.

L7 shouldnt it be clear to you now that the way we are going america (perhaps the whole western world) is going to end up something like mexico; with its top 5 wealthy oligarchical families that own everything and have consolidated all wealth in the country into the fewest amount of hands.

the goal is not to destroy the country. the goal is simply to make the rich even richer. that was always the goal.
