^So there was a lot of dialogue and nuanced acting/directing? That's what you're saying?

Sounds right up my alley... I still plan to see it... I'm waiting out the first 2 weeks because I can't stand large crowds at movie theaters.

I liked it, I expected it to be better, though. I think I enjoyed The Kingdom more.
Also expected Common and T.I to have more than 5 lines combined.

Denzel did good, but I liked his performance better in Training Day. Or maybe I just liked the character better.

And I thought I'd see more of his rise to power, too. He's already been in the game 15 years when we first meet him.

AG is in the 7.5/10 range. I probably won't remember much of this film in a year.

I liked it. I even watched the history channel tonight on frank lucas.
He was indeed MOB-like. Problem is the people around him weren't.

Movie was nothing close to a classic. It was good, but it dragggggggggged entirely too much. Dialogue wasn't good enough for all that dragging. The best scene was when Richie Robert(Russel Crowe) and Frank Lucas had that conversation at the end.

    Rza > Common and T.I.

[funny]@Common being T.I. father in the movie

    ^ WORD.

They interviewed frank lucas. Duke is gully as fuck. He was all like yeah I'd do it all over again.
I was like this mother fucker just won me over.

Only thing he regreted was how his product blue magic affected the people of harlem for the worst.

That was his whole fuckin existence.

If he would do it all over again, he doesn't regret shit. Or he wouldn't do it.

I guess he contradicts himself then and has no remorse. most sociopaths often can't keep their stories straight. I still find him gully as fuck.

    The movie fucking sucked.

Huge letdown. And I thought 300 was a letdown? The movie is so boring, and they give you all of this back story that has nothing to do with anything at all. Why was dude's custody battle at all important to the movie? Only part that was good was when he shot dude in public.

Don't fuck up like me and waste 10 on this garbage.

    What were your expectations?

Maybe that was the problem, and not the movie?

The Godfather was "slow" as shit and it's considered one of the best movies of all time, and I agree.

If you were expecting intense action sequences every 2 minutes, then I can see how a lot of you would be bored.

Aside from barely any action, IMO, it could've been about 1 hour shorter. That annoying detail makes the movie suck. Cut it an hour short and you got a decent movie. It's an OK movie that drags on way too long because of unnecessary scenes IMO.

It's about the equivalent of Ben Stein rapping 300 bars about his life.
