definitely a smart idea to tag, some people are so shady and most of the beat jackers who lift the untagged beats will try and make money from em... tag your stuff

Tagging your beat(s) can make your sells suffer and not tagging can make em suffer. But if you upload your beats on a site that let's you promote your beats,it's up to the producers to tag they beats not the site, but if the site has a tag system it does make the beat jackers slow they roll. But remember, there's always gonna be some wack wanna be producers that try to jack your craft bottom line homies.

I don't like tagging the beats.

I rather let the mp3-player reduce sound quality (or do it myself) a bit so no-one can seriously use the beat for a retail CD's but not too much either so the listener would notice.

If beat is good, it doesn't matter if it's 128kbps MP3 or WAV when someone is peeping it for the first time. But, no-one can't seriously do any business with jacked MP3 that's 128kbps, since the jacker is unable to provide multitracks or hi-quality version which are required at mixing and mastering stage of the album.

There's no point on tagging a beat... Another reason that Lx pointed out... who the fuck using mp3's for a real cd, especially if your serious about making a cd your not going to jack beats or use mp3s not smart not worth your time.

if your smart you would already have your beats, more specifically instrumentals copyrighted... Then sue if you want...

It's better to put the tag in between the bar that's about to play with the bar that's currently playing
