I always find stuff like this interesting because I don't think we really have a GOOD idea of what all happened in antiquity. I don't think we even know have the real story of human history.
why are elongated heads associated with aliens, other than hollywood?
The mythos of the most "common" alien the Gray have always been depicted with elongated heads. Central american ruins and some native american dwellings in the south west United States show what they often refer to as "star people".
Almost always have big heads. Hollywood just picked up on the popular mythos that was already established.
according to wiki the first depiction of 'grey aliens' was in a book by science fiction writer hg wells in 1893. there's no reference to any popular mythos that extends beyond their depiction in science fiction.
edit - and this is really besides the point. my point was that relying on what people tend to think aliens will look like as a point of reference for spotting aliens is incredibly short sighted. it would actually be less of a leap to suggest the bones were from an as-of-yet undiscovered cousin of man. chances are it was just natives elongating their own heads, though.
Damn.. almost does look alien..
Pretty believable life from other planets or galaxys could exist. Seeing as there is an "earth" in every syatem
Hollywood depicts them the way they look
the ones that look like the squid guy from the simpsons (see predator, district13, aliens etc)
Theyre attempting to get u used to seeing them
