This is an update from a few threads I've made over the past few months. (I apologize for the length of the posts, however this is a rather large project so I want everyone to get the full grasp of it)

I am a graphic designer, and I am designing a book listing the 50 greatest battlers of all-time.

The list has been compiled with the help of a lot of people on rapmusic as well as the research I've done concerning this project. I pretty much have the list set in stone at this point, however there are some guys I'm still "on the fence" about. The list of 50 is below. If you all could take the time to give your selections/opinions that would be appreciated (whom you would take out/put in).

I've spoken with a few different publishers and this definitely seems like it has a good chance of being a "real" book (I don't really know a lot about that kind of thing but I'm definitely doing my best to figure it out). So any and all help is really encouraged and appreciated. Thanks (the last two threads have been a big help)

Here is a list of guys who "just missed it" for me.

The book will be set up so each spread is a new battler. One page is the artwork with a headshot of the battler, his name, and other elements including his logo, things that show where he is from, etc. And on the other page will be his biography. Here are the ones I have completed (almost all). Sorry again, there are a lot of them.) Also, not making excuses, but the colors came up slightly more flourescent here, than in Illustrator (the program I designed them in), so some of the greens and blues get a little lost, at least on my screen. If anyone can help me get a large pic of Justice it would be greatly appreciated.

Hope y'all like them and all that kind of thing.

There is also going to be a section in the book for "Organizations and Their Contributors".

The more notable leagues will have an entire spread. The lesser ones will receive either a half or quarter spread.

The organizations that have a full spread will have four members with portraits. The ones with a half or quarter spread will have one or two members with portraits.

The members are as follows (suggestions here are obviously encouraged as well):

Scribble Jam- Kevin Beacham, Nick Accurso, G-Fresh, Mr. Dibbs
    Fight Klub- International P
Grind Time- Madd Illz, Lush One, Drect, Avocado
    KOTD- Organik
    DF- Eurgh
    Rap Olympics- Wendy Day
Jumpoff- Harold Anthony, Mazzi, Scars, Rap6
    Smack- Smack
    Tourettes- Jamie Dewolf
    Lounge Battles- Madd Illz
    Rock Steady- ?
    Battle for Supremacy- ?
    Blaze Battles- KRS One
    New Music Seminar- Tom Silverman
    Brainstorm- ?
Superbowl MC battles- Tim Linberg, Rocky Lamontagne
    Braggin Rites- ?
Proud 2B eh Battle MC- Ryan PVP
    Mic Fights- ?

Here are some examples of the portraits. They are the same as the battlers, however the layout of the spreads for this section will be different.

Here are some spreads from the book (and the book's cover). These are large, hopefully it doesn't take mad long for them to come up.

    Cover

    Table of Contents page

Battler Spreads. These will take up the majority of the book. One page will have the battler's illustration, the other will have his bio, and a dope quote from one of his battles

An "Organizations and their Contributors" thread. This is GT's. Thesaurus is currently in place of Lush, as I don't have Lush's illustration done just yet. Also the bio is just a placeholder as well, as I don't have a GT one yet. Same deal though, pics on one page, bio and quote on the other.

I certainly hope so, lol. Like I said I'm going to try and get it published. I don't know a lot about how to do that yet, but I've talked with a few publishers and sent them spreads and so forth, and two in particular seemed very interested. (Its funny a lot of them didn't even know what a rap battle was)

And yea, Saurus is just a placeholder for Lush until I get his illustration done.
(The text is also a placeholder)

I know he did, to what extent I'm not exactly sure. (most notably against Eyedea, though it was like a "fun" battle)

There were quite a few ppl in a previous thread mentioning his name, that's why he was sort of nominated so to speak. He's not in the book yet, but is on the "just missed it" list. Obviously if his battling history isn't that highly rated, I won't put him in.

I remember seeing this. This is definitely a great thing to put together.

I might be the only person who feels that Jin and Immortal Technique dont belong in there though. I really like Immortal Tech as a rapper but every battle I ever seen him in he was terrible. And Jin is terrible...I dont believe 106 and Park is a good enough on a resume considering its only one 30 second round with no cursing. Its a crock of shit once a week competition. Jin got major exposed when he tried to step into real battle arena's and got murked by real battle rappers.

jin was good for his time, just really outdated.

immortal definitely belongs up there. he has been in the battle scene for longer than almost anyone. ive seen him murder before, look around youll find him with bars..

also if anything he is in the battle hall of fame for helping put on events and shit like that. either way he deserves to be mentioned with all these people.

Whole thing is refreshing, it'd be crazy if everybody could contribute shit like this to the battle scene, but as for the 2 missing I would add Pumpkinhead and Diabolic/Cassidy and good luck with it.
