the Aardvark? lol
but word, graphic novels are ill.
exactamundo. even their simple shield design is great.(or at least this version)
"Return with your shield or on it"
like i've said before, i was a Spartan in a past life...probably King Leonidas himself.
Batman Begins was loosely based on/inspired by his Batman: Year One, and weren't Elektra and Daredevil based off Frank Miller's characters/work?
very loosely...maybe one or two actual references and characters from the book(carmine falcone, who was only seen once in the movie i believe, and portrayed inaccurately...whoever that fat slob was, The Roman, he wasn't) . i own the issues, and when i watched the movie, "year one" was hardly an inspiration. i'm sure the main reason they mention it's tie-in to the book is for geek cred.
and i'm not sure about the other two...i haven't seen or read anything saying so, but if it's true that both those films were based off of frank miller's daredevil work, it was done very very poorly.
well, it was originally supposed to be a film of year one with darren aronofsky directing, but he pulled out to do the fountain, and they brought in christopher nolan who always wants his own screenplay, but they wanted to keep it in a similar vein, so I guess you could say it was inspired by, rather than based on.
as for the other two, they are done very very poorly, regardless of whether they are based on frank miller source material
"Sin City," was a bad ass movie, I know "300," isn't going to dissapoint because I play a soldier in the battle scenes.
I want to see this shit
After seeing the movie, this is not the case with 300; the movie is exactly what the trailers/ads sell it to be.
The Lead Actor was making girls pussys wet in the theatre lol...it reminded me of when russel crowe got big with gladiator women were drooling...they love the alpha males.
just the action and dark way it was filmed is reason enough to go see it,
didn't understand the deformed Persian hoes in the tent though.
I saw the movie last night.
The movie is fucking tight.
"You there...what is your profession?"
"and you Arcadian, what is your profession?"
*turns to his Spartans*
"SPARTANS!! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?!"
that shit got me amped, the movie was tight as hell, go see the shit
MAAAAAAAAAAN, everyone is telling me how ill this movie is...i need to go and see this foreal foreal
70 million opening weekend. Thats amazing.

if u haven't seen it watch it!
I saw it an loved...i want to go see it today!
70 million?!?!...damn yo
It was pretty good, but a little overrated IMO. I loved the art and especially the costumes. I mean they even found a costume to make the ugly hunchback guy look cool. The fighting was also good. The lead guy was overaacting IMO though. Does he have to grit his teeth after every sentance? The ending and especially how it went down leaves a LOT to be desired and is bullshit. I'd explain more my stance on that , but it'd give too much away.
The part toward the end with the queen was
Pretty good movie though.
I thought the lead guy's acting was appropriate for the time and style (graphic novel) of the movie... he was a king-warrior set in ancient Spartan times, so his urgent battle cries and confident stance were necessary, IMO
