As much as I love the 90's and how densely packed with classics 95 & 96 were, mad good shit still came out:

Some of these dudes had multiple good albums in that timeframe, too. No wonder I used to have so many CD's. Buncha shit I forgot to post/tired of img searching... what else?

'10 is a new decade, though... I liked a lot of albums from the '00s, but not as much as from the '90s... maybe it's nostalgia? Noo... it's sensibility... lyricism decreased and beatmaking became less creative to me in the new millenium... that's not nostalgia... those are measurable and qualitative assessments. I will say that there were quite a few bright spots every year, but '02, I think had the most... the other years were very slim to me...

Oh snap, how did I forget Dilated - Expansion Team. All this other stuff's jogging my memory too, but that one definitely should have been an insta-remember for me.

That Gift of Gab solo album too... good memories.

I personally think 2000-2010 was the best period of hip-hop, especially in the underground.

But I keep it to myself because everyone disagrees.

fuck, i just saw this thread after making mine.

but mine is relating more to the rappers, not the albums.

good thread though, glad hip-hop is still coming out with classics.

they were some classics but overrall 90's produced way more classics and timeless music imo.

There's only a handful or so albums outside the 90's that I'd put in my top 25, so yeah... but I realized the other day I have a lot of nostalgia for the '00s too, like we never talk about all these albums much, and wanted to make the thread.
