I know, couple of years late, but...I've caught up on the series ~ seen bits and pieces of both shows, and am sort of surprised that only two girls gave their children up for adoption...

There's something so wrong with kids having kids, and this show surely does nothing to help..

I rarely watch MTV but for some reason find these shows interesting.

Amber (I think from the original teen mom) had to put down her income in court documents and apparently she was raking in $280,000 a year from the show and appearances because of her fame from the show. And she was the unpopular one. Which makes me hope no teen girls are getting pregnant on purpose to try to be on these shows but they probably are because kids are fucking dumb.

There might be a really small percentage of girls who think it's going to bring them fame should they be cast for that show, so it wouldn't surprise me if the "oops pregnancy" was premeditated, much like the "pregnancy pact" was.

For some reason it's rewarding teens for something that shouldn't be on their plate at that age though.

i dont know how new it is....

but its about moms who put their tiny little daughters in dance/modelling and they dress the little ones up like adults and they do adult type dancing

and the worst part is the moms are way more into it than the daughters, not saying the kids arent into it either but the moms are militant and living vicariously through their kids

^parents living their dreams vicariously via their children is one of the worst things ever; especially when it's the child who'll suffer at the end of the day.

I'm not acquainted with the said show, however I've heard and seen a few shows on moms who enroll their little girls in beauty pageants at an early age, doll them up ~ they look almost china doll-ish or as if made of wax.

I'm going top start feeling so old when I'll say "When we were young, makeup was for special occasions only; especially from ending stages of the elementary school and the transition into high school. Sure, there were girls caked out, and nothing has changed up until now, but caking out a prepubescent kid is sort of really sending out the wrong message.

It's making them grow up a tad too fast, and not letting them be kids.

this kinda brings up another issue

how in the media we are trivializing childhood... its kinda creepy and ties in with child pornography in its most extreme case

just watch commercials and look at paper ads... kids dressed as adults doing adult things...

it feeds the perversion i think.

child predators should be jailed for life. No redemption. No freedom. Just prison. And anything that trivializes childhood should be shunned

They should be castrated first, child predators, that is. there's one thing that irks me when it comes to labeling pedophiles as people with a disease, rather than people who commit a sex crime against minors.

But yeah, the media does pain a very grim image when it comes to childhood, as well as rushing them to hastily grow up...
