Yea it more of a personal preference.....and also what type of patch or preset you are using...

all I'm saying is experiment....you'll never now what type of sound or effect you could achieve just by taking your time to tweak the knobs and sliders...

You just may find a sound that every body wants...such as the T-Pain effect for example..

Thtas what makes you a true Engineer Producer IMO,....your ability to find your own effects and sounds...

I feel the more you try to create your own sounds and effects....then better youll become...

It takes more time and shyt....but thats what it all about....and really makes creating music more inspiring....

At Least to me it does...

when recording some1 over a 2 track for a mictape or whatever i bus the vocal track and the beat to the same reverb, compress tthe reverb, eq freqs that might make it muddy, and have the reverb bus mixed low to kinda make everything blend together a little better.

First off you have to decide what type of track you want.
Then compress eq and add effects to each sound as you add it.
Keep in mind the type of track you are trying to make as you build.

Try to keep the effects more felt than heard unless that's the sound you are going for

    Here's another one
    Turn you left speaker off
And work on panning just the right sounds find a space for evetthing yep evetthing on the right

    Repeat with the left side
    And your not panning 100 l or 100 r

Then check ya work in stereo

    Make adjustments as needed\

That's just a little pre mix before you mix the entire beat or song
