    Izotope

I wanna know what timbo used on Shock Value. Any ideas?

Stereo Imaging is a picky fx, be sure to make panning perfect, while applying on drums. Anyway, pretty often you`ll come up with, input sound L - 50 R - 80 and output sound like L 70 R - 80 And the reverb will be like L 20 R 80. That`s the fuck up right here. And u spend time fixing that. Drums r the hardest thing to enhance but the will sound beautifully.

    This just came out today
    Something new
IZotope Mastering Effects Bundle DX v1.0 Incl Keygen-AiR

The Mastering Effects Bundle is a suite of plug-ins

powered by iZotope DSP technology. The effects

include 64-bit precision and high quality algorithms

for exceptional sound, as well as immersive

interfaces with metering and graphical feedback to

make mastering as quick and easy as possible.

This bundle was ripped from Sound Forge (powered by iZotope)

But can be use in any DAW or audio editor that uses DX plugins

This my upload so I have no problem posting the link.
Because of the forum filter I am posting the link on a Paste2 site

    Get link

    Read nfo file

    alright real tip time.

Don't think too hard! I have stayed consistant with my production and I think the reason why is because I don't think **failure** I used to have periods of time where i felt I lost my beatmakin mojo but it's all in the mind.

Learn to "experiment" and cancel out "failure". I think a lot of people stress themselves out making beats when you're not being tested on the spot... give your self room to feel the vibe.

I have made beats that were meant to be club bangers but by the time the beat finished it became something I didn't vision.

    Another tip **KEEP IT SIMPLE**

Sometimes a simple melody will do the trick. Or sometimes you need a simple melody to get your brain started and you can build onto it. Also know when to STOP. Some beats don't need to have countless layers of instruments... sometimes you just need to keep it simple.

    I agree.

If im slumped, i usually make another beat that i heard before

by the time im done, it sounds nothing like the original, and i learned a new technique or 2.

I don't chase the melodies.. Instead of chasing it, I'll have a basic layout of the drums and a main melody and do something else while playing that in the background.. whether it's taking a shower while that shit plays or whatever.. let your brain do the creative thinking subconsciously vice straining your brain to actually think in music creation.. after a while, it'll hit me as far as the melody that I know needs to be in there... You don't have to be sitting in front of your computer to think of melodies.. let them come to you naturally.. if they come naturally, you know that at the end you'll always love the end product because it came from within.. A tip that has helped me many times recently when people ask "how did you come up with that hook/melody?"...

To not Play the Melody line You want the Singer to Sing. Hence dont clog up the lines, use chords!!

i hum what it is that i hear in my head, record it vocally, and then play around with the instruments until i get exactly what it is that I recorded. Another thing I do sometimes to give it that "unquantized" feel is selecting the instrument that i want to offset, and drag it slightly off a bit. And if I'm in my "I just don't give a fuck" mood, i'll disregard quantizing all together. I wouldn't recommend it if you have trouble with latency.

dont be scared to add crazy stuff to your songs. people be stuck on pianos/horns/bass/drums all the time.

mixing/mastering is way over my head but ive been reading and experimenting alot so it'll get better.

Dont think your mixes will be 10x better over night by reading these tips

    honestly...

my #1. sacred secret....really isnt something unknown...but it can be vital to everyones song or beat...

EQ frequencies... cutting out all the bullshit in each instrument and vocals especially...the song can sound golden on your monitor speakers and all...but if someone plays it with some surround sound with a big ass sub...you'll notice the difference in the mix...just lowering the eq down on the low end WILL NOT HELP...you have to cut frequencies out so that it sit's well in the mix and doesnt interfear with another instrument, and also isnt using up resources that arent needed...such as cut below 30-40hz...get that muddiness out of your mix...and making each instrument sit in its own little designated frequency area...if you dont Cut out un needed frequencies for each instrument...you'll get a muddy wreck...and you'll more then likely hear it in a Big subwoofer hittin car...

and as far as cutting too much off the high end...you'll know...it'll sound too muddy...and if you cut too much on the low end...you'll know...it'll sound metallic and thing...

you can cut eq's and know when they are in they right area...cuz, nothing will change usually in the sound...(when your listining to the instrument solo)...

also...reading on eq tables...frequencies and their respective spaces...will only help your music...
