    good picks, anida

janis joplin is the queen of what i playfully term "downhome gritty white woman soul"... shouted her out earlier in the thread

ennio morricone penned a lot of soulful compositions

the main themes of once upon a time in the west and once upon a time in america contain so much

This trying to make every single thing you come in to contact with artsy thing is getting extremely tired brahman....don't try so hard to force "soul" in to everything.

"force" soul? no, i'm able to find soul in things, and this song has mad soul... as did gayle mccormick (and, as does the proposition by the way)

the weariness through her languid pace and how she's singing until the song comes to its emotional climax communicates nothing but soul

do a search and read up on gayle mccormick... critics, fans, and everybody exclaim about the soul she has in her music

"And through it all comes Ms. McCormick's vocals which are as blue-eyed soul as you can get."

"Gayle McCormick, the only female in the group could belt out a song from the very depths of her soul."

"Smith's strongest asset was their most frequent vocalist, Gayle McCormick, an accomplished female blue-eyed soul belter."

"... this song features an awesome vocal performance by singer Gayle McCormick and some badass soul touches. I especially enjoy the production here..."

when i first heard the song, the soul within it overwhelmed me immediately and made me want to find out more about this group and its singer

i don't look for things and try to make something out of em

if i feel em, i feel em... and, i felt this

as i said earlier, it's all relative based on experience and shared emotion

something about this song and the way gayle sings it touched me

she has soul..... and, so does the proposition

don't try to talk to me about soul... i'm an expert. i'm the holiest and most good-natured person on this board.

Brahman, you could find...or say you find soul in a can of fucking soup.

shit's ridiculous and lame. I understand it's your little gimmick to seem like an interesting net- persona, but it's beyond annoying at this point.

wtf? [funny], there is no gimmick or attempts to "seem like" anything... i share my interests, plain and simple, and a lot of them happen to be off the beaten path. not consciously so either. your problem is that you expect everybody to see things the way you do and are shocked (annoyed often) when someone has a different taste

i was genuinely moved when i first heard this track, and it turns out tons of fans who are writing reviews about the death proof soundtrack are saying the same exact thing

and, the song's a paradox because it's the most commercially successful rendition of the song, yet it's one of those hard-to-track-down type cuts that tarantino unearths a lot of the time

rock/soul critics, savvy music fans, and that soul funk brotha quentin tarantino all dig it

and, my boy x - cal... who this thread was primarily made for anyway

and, yes, soul can be identified in a soup can's existence

not the soup can itself, but potentially what it represents and how it got there

not all soup cans have it, but one could

you're soul ignorant, so i won't even bother explaining the science

    the proposition rocks

And you're soul pretentious. Just like Tarantino.

Any coke-head would feel you right now brah, but not anyone sober.

I'd rather be 'soul ignorant' than try my hardest to seem deep to the point it looks like a silly act.

pretentious? no. overzealous and too excited maybe, but not pretentious

i'm the real deal... been thinking, feeling, and operating more transcendentally than most since day one. in the realm of jesus and buddha.

not trying to "seem deep" either. i'm using my true depth as i share

If you feel like you're thinking about soul and things of that sort far too often.... it's probably fake.

and you clearly think way too much about it. If it takes effort, it's not natural.

Don't try to mold yourself into your zodiac sign.
